All people at sometime in their lives will
experience the "storms of life" that turn our lives upside down. Just
like a real thunderstorm, we see the storms of our lives on the
horizon. The pending storm frightens us because we don't know if it will
hit us, how hard it will hit us, or how long it will last. We anticipate
its arrival with fear of the unknown. The violence of the storm makes us
aware that the storm has arrived and that we are tossed to and fro with
the loss of all direction. But after every storm is the gentle,
cleansing rain that lingers when all seems to be settling down. This is
the time that we can reflect on what we have gone through and know that
we are now at peace.
This mixed media art panel depicts that very rain
shower after the storm. I incorporated glass bevels to depict the long
flowing sheets of rain on a window. The copper pieces have rain drops
embossed on them. The painted background is the swirling clouds from the
storm that have come and now are gone. I used the copper and blue tones
to provide a decorative art panel that would adorn any wall with vibrant
colors and textures. Something the picture cannot show is that the
copper and the glass bevels are layered on the art panel. This is a 3D
pc of art.
